Substrate preparation: The substrate must be load-bearing, largely flat with a closed surface texture. It must be free from gravel nests, cavities, gaping cracks and ridges, dust and separating substances e.g. oil, paint, laitance layers and loose components. Remove adhesion impeding layers using suitable measures e.g. high pressure water jetting or sandblasting, grit blasting. Suitable substrates are concrete with a dense microstructure, cement-based renders, fully pointed masonry work and cement-based screeds. Level out roughly textured substrates and uneven masonry work. Pre-wet substrates so they are matt damp at the time the mortar is applied but avoid ponding. Prime highly absorbent substrates with ASO-Unigrund-GE or ASO-Unigrund-K. The ASOCRET-BIS-System is available to re-profile substrates. Use the ASO-Joint-Tape system at joints and other details such as pipe penetrations etc. (please refer to the technical data sheets). Scarify substrates damaged by de-icing salts back to a sound area by using suitable measures e.g. scabbling etc. Product preparation: Dependent on the desired consistency and the area of application, AQUAFIN-TC07 can be mixed at a ratio of 1:4 or 1:4.5. Here approx. 80% of the liquid component is placed in a clean mixing bucket and stirred with the powder component to a homogenous, lump-free mass. A mixing time of approx. 2-3 minutes is required with a mechanical mixer (approx. 500–700 rpm). Then add the remaining liquid component dependent on the method of application. Do not add additional water. Always apply AQUAFIN-TC07 by spray, brush or trowel in at least 2 coats. The second and following coats can only be applied when the first will no longer become damaged by foot traffic or a further application of product. Avoid applying at thicknesses greater than 2 kg/m2 in one layer. During the first 24 hours take suitable protective measures against mechanical damage and weathering e.g. strong sunlight, wind etc.
Important Advice: • Protect areas not being coated, from AQUAFIN-TC07. • Water may not be added to AQUAFIN-TC07. • AQUAFIN-TC07 is suitable for bridging small static shrinkage and hairline cracks up to 0.1 mm. It is not suitable for bridging large or non-static cracks. • At higher temperatures the surface can become lightly tacky. In this case, we recommend treating with water in order to guarantee complete hydration. • As a surface coating, AQUAFIN-TC07 may not be subjected to point or linear loads. • In rooms with high humidity and/or inadequate ventilation (e.g. water containers), allow for extended drying times. • Always conduct a water analysis when using in water containers. When evaluating the water aggressiveness to DIN 4030, the information in the section on lime dissolving carbonic acid is binding. • In closed containers temperatures of at most around +10°C to +15°C are to be expected. In order to guarantee complete hydration of the cement, keep the coating damp for an adequate length of time (constant relative humidity of > 80%) and protect against drying out. In general 7 days is sufficient. Always prevent the formation of condensation water or a standing film of water on the coating during this time period after application. • Where there is a risk of dropping below the dew point (condensation formation), install a dehumidifier until the mortar has cured. Under no circumstances blow in uncontrolled warm air. • When there is strong sunlight, work against the direction of the sun and work in the shade. • During the curing time, the coating may not be exposed to water. Water penetrating the rear can lead to de-bonding in frost. • Exclude direct contact with metals such as copper, zinc and aluminium by sealing with a primer. This is produced with two coats of ASODUR-GBM. Carefully apply the first coat to saturation over the cleaned and degreased substrate. Apply the second coat after a

waiting time of approx. 3–6 hours and broadcast with 0.2 – 0.7 mm quartz sand. Consumption approx. 800–1000 g/m2. • For waterproofing over PVC and stainless steel flanges, abrade the flange, degrease with universal cleaner, apply AQUAFIN-2K/M or AQUAFIN-RS300 and bed in the ASO-Dichtmanschette or alternatively the ADF-Rohrmanschette without voids or folds and coat with AQUAFIN-TC07 once fully dry.
