ADF®-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape)

Elastic sealing tape
Substrates: All conventional substrates, which are suitable for the application of waterproof membranes. The substrate must be professionally prepared. All substrates must be sound, load-bearing, free from frost and adhesion inhibiting components. Any voids or irregularities must be levelled with ASOCRET-M30.
• Tear resistant • Water impermeable • Compatible with bitumen • Fleece laminated • Highly elastic Areas of application: For forming water impermeable construction expansion joints and for use at junctions between construction elements, e.g. in areas in contact with the ground.
Product application: Joint waterproofing at wall/floor junctions and bay movement joints: Apply the waterproof material to both sides of the joint to be bridged to a minimum of 2 cm wider than the ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape). Lay the ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape) into the fresh material and press in evenly and without folds. Apply another layer of the waterproof coating over the top. The movement joint area (for the subsequent application of an elastic sealant) can remain free from the waterproof coating. Overlap the edges of the joint tape a minimum of 10 cm and fully bond (solid bed) with the waterproof coating avoiding folds.

Waterproofing structural movement joints continuous through foundation slabs: Lay the ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape) into the joint forming a loop. Using a suitable waterproof material, bond the tape without voids or folds and bed into the waterproof layer. Where there is water under pressure, additionally insert a suitable closed cell backing strip and bond another layer of ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape) over the joint with the appropriate waterproof coating and overcoat.
Chemical resistance after 7 days storage at +22 °C was achieved with the following chemicals: Hydrochloric acid 3%, Sulphuric acid 35% Citric acid 100 g/l, Potassium hydroxide 3% Sodium hydroxide 0.3 g/l Salt water 20 g/l (sea salt)
For corners and cruciform cross sections, the following pre-formed pieces are available: ASO-Joint-Tape-2000-S-Corners (90° internal and external) ASO-Joint-Tape-2000-T-Piece as well as ASO-Joint-Tape-2000-Cross-Piece

Dependent on the degree of exposure to water, suitable waterproof materials are AQUAFIN-RB400, AQUAFIN-RS300, AQUAFIN-2K/M-PLUS, ASOFLEX-AKB and COMBIDIC-2K-CLASSIC or COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM. After bonding the tape, the following alternative waterproof coatings are available for use: COMBIFLEX-C2/P, COMBIFLEX-EL, COMBIDIC-1K and COMBIDIC-2K-CLASSIC or COMBIDIC-2K-PREMIUM. Important advice: • Recognised construction technology regulations are to be followed. • Joints which are to be safeguarded with ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape) must be adequately protected against mechanical damage. • ADF-Dehnfugenband (Expansion-Joint-Tape) may not be bonded with products containing solvents.
